At the Rivers, Trails and Ales Festival, we think that a great reward for riding, hiking or paddling all weekend long is a delicious beverage from awesome Ohio breweries and meaderies! Again this year we are hosting an outdoor beer festival in East Muskingum Park. Take in the sights of the beautiful riverfront park as you enjoy locally crafted beer and mead.

The Muskingum may be mighty, but her water is not particularly quick. Be ready for a steady paddle throughout the trip. Beer Fest awaits at the end of your journey!
Paddle one of Ohio's largest rivers and experience the thrill of locking thru the only hand operated lock system left in the world.
* Bring plenty of water, snacks, and sunscreen.
* This paddle is unsupported.
* No transportation is provided.
Volunteers will be out paddling on the river, but this paddle is at your own pace. You may paddle in groups or on your own.
This event is a great chance to see the historic Muskingum Lock and Dam System which is the only remaining hand-operated lock system in our country! The Muskingum River Parkway and its 160-year-old navigation system were designated a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Starting Location: Boat ramp and shelter house on a property with a large mowed field on Muskingum River Road approximately 18 minutes from Festival Headquarters and halfway between the Lowell and Devol's Dam Locks (5010 Muskingum River Rd. Lowell, OH 45744)
Thirsty? Check out the new dock at the House of Wines where refreshments will be available for purchase! Located river left, about a mile past Devol’s Dam!
Bathrooms located at Devol’s Dam (mile 5) and Indian Acres Boat ramp (mile 9).
Grab a pint and a meal/snack at designated locations and get a stamp for your passport. Stop by the RTA kick-off party at 740 Social on Thursday August 10 at 7:30PM to pick up your ale trail passport and get an early start! The RTA Ale Trail is only active during the weekend of RTA. You have through Sunday August 13 to complete the trail.
• Pick up your passport at the kick-off party or at RTA HQ during the weekend!
• Completed passports can be turned in for a prize at HQ until 12PM on Sunday August 13 OR you can mail it to RTA Fest, 241 Front St., Suite 9, Marietta, OH 45750. Must be post-dated by August 19th to be valid.

• Cost? There is no cost to participate but to be eligible for passport stamps you must purchase at each location.

The RTA Fest Ale Trail is back for 2022! Use this passport as a guide to the best beer destinations in town! Grab a pint and a meal/snack at the designated locations and you’ll get a stamp on your passport.
The RTA Fest Ale Trail is only active during the weekend of RTA. Get an early start by picking up passports during the RTA kick-off event at the Marietta Brewing Company Thursday August 11, 730pm. Then you have through Sunday August 14th to complete the trail. There are several stops, but we have faith you can make it happen!
Participants can pick up their Ale Trail Passport at the festival HQ.

The Town House welcomes Rhinegeist from Cincinnati for a great beer event Friday night starting at 5 PM! In addition to some awesome beer, Matt Petty and the Whiskey Chasers will be playing starting at 5 PM!
Come grab some delicious food while Old Bridge Brewing Company holds a tap takeover. Beers include: Beernormous, Ryenormous, Red as Reba Rye, Ricardo’s Hounduran, Family Sessions IPA, and a SURPRISE choice from the brewer!
Please join RTA attendees at the Keg Tapping of the Festival's very own Rock Drop Pale Ale, a beer made every year to celebrate the Rivers Trails and Ales Festival. Rock Drop will be available starting at 4 PM. Come and get a delicious draft pour of this beauty!
The House of Wines will be featuring a pre fixe menu all week pairing brews from Outerbelt Brewing with a five course menu.
Kick off dinner Tuesday August 10th @6pm. Menu by chef Sally Oliver and beers presented by Jay Taylor from the brewery.

Untappd is a free app that lets you keep track of the beers you drink. So, for each beer you "check in" that is from a brewery that has participated in the beer fest in the past, or would have this year, it counts towards earning the virtual badge within the app. There is no tasting to go along with it. It is primarily a drive to get people to still support the breweries they otherwise would have through the RTA beer fest.

RTA is kicking it up a notch this year and expanding to an outdoor BEER FEST in our beautiful riverfront park. Presented by Marietta Brewing Co., the RTA Beer Fest will feature 13 local breweries, amazing food trucks, live music by OYO, awesome kiddo activities, and much more!

Weber's Market will be hosting Loose Rail Brewing from Canal Winchester all weekend for RTA. There will be five Loose Rail beers on tap starting on Friday.
