Mark your calendars now - the 2013 THIRD ANNUAL Rivers, Trails and Ales Festival will be the 2nd weekend in August!  Thursday night kick-off party, followed by a full schedule of events on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  Join us for road biking, mountain biking, paddling, fine local ales and grooving music in the states #1 destination for outdoor adventure: Marietta, Ohio! Events are free and open to the public. Hope to see you there!

Meet up with us tonight (Thursday) at Marietta Brewing Company in downtown Marietta to kick-off the Rivers, Trails and Ales festivities!  Live music by Hayfield and Crow! Did You Know?… . Hayfield & Crow’s Jesse Forrest won the regional auditions for television’s The Voice and will be headed to LA immediately after the show. This will be a fun night!

Plus, this will be your first chance to purchase the 2012 Rivers, Trails and Ales Festival t-shirt, coozy, and VIP pass!

Road Riders - did you know that we have all the festival routes mapped out on MapMyRIDE? Look for links on our website in the TRAILS (bike) page (scroll down to the bottom of the page) - or search on MapMyRide for our username “rtafest”!

We are super pumped to announce that the 2012 RTA program is complete ahead of schedule and will be available around town starting this weekend!  To get your advance copy to plan out your Rivers, Trails & Ales weekend, look at such establishments as the Galley or the Marietta Brewing Company, or stop by Marietta Adventure Company at 219-B Second St.  Saturday is free coozie day at the shop too - stop by Marietta Adventure Co. for your RTA coozie & program (1 per customer).  See everyone next weekend!

<——Check out the “Rivers” page of the website for exciting new activities for the 2012 RTA Festival!  As seen before, the Mighty Muskingum River Raft Race is back with a vengeance - race your handmade raft 2 miles to the finish!  This year, adding to the excitement and starting at the same time, the RTA Fest Kayak and Canoe Turn-around Race will race upstream, turn around a buoy, and head back downstream to the finish line at the Harmar Bridge!  Additionally, register at the festival headquarters on Friday or Saturday to participate in the Paddlers’ Dice Run, or join the MOV’n Dragons for an instructional dragonboat ride on Saturday morning.  And for you hardy paddlers out there, there will be a group paddle from Lowell to Marietta on Saturday, a 14 mile journey.  Looking forward to a full weekend of fun at the 2012 Rivers, Trails and Ales Festival!
